Survivor Insights 15: Predictable Win For Bob!

Two-thousand eight will surely be an unforgettable year for the 57-year-old physics teacher, Bob Crowley. After winning the Sole Survivor Title and $1 Million + 100,000— what could be more for Bob? Just a Merry, Happy Christmas!

Watching the first few moments of Gabon’s season finale was clearly exciting. Ken Hoang was unsure of Sugar’s loyalty. No need to doubt,  he’s the great strategist this season but why Sugar easily outplayed him?

If Ken won the Final Five Immunity Challenge, there could have been 50-50 chance of getting in the final three. If only he united with Matty and Susie after the challenge, Ken would have won this season. But great strategists couldn’t win SURVIVOR and things didn’t work the way he expected it to be, Ken was voted out and became the sixth member of the jury.

Before I forget, hands down to the Final Five Immunity Challenge. That was sizzling amazing! The concept was fairly made to all five remaining castaways. But all hailed for Bob, he ruled this challenge with his speed in assembling the Gabonesse Hut.

Then there was the final four: Matty, Sugar, Bob and Susie. My top three bets were nearly there but when Sugar sided with Bob, I immediately knew Bob was the winner.

Matty Whitmore was not like pulling a leg during his fire square-off challenge with Bob. This challenge was already a giveaway. Whoever wins, he would surely have the million bucks in his pocket.

Bob made it in the final three along with Sugar and Susie. I knew Bob will win but I was hoping it was still Sugar. Susie was a reserved strategist and Bob was great but Sugar Kipley was nearly the complete package.

In the end, good players win and Bob outlasted the two. The onion-alliance (Marcus, Charlie, Corrine) and Randy voted for him. Sugar didn’t receive any votes from the jury and Susie Smith surprisingly got three, from Matty, Ken and Crystal.

David Bloomberg also commented in his article. “From that standpoint, Bob was not among the best strategists, schemers, and plotters. He stayed under the radar until he needed to move above it, and then hung on by winning challenges. But the odds were against him winning forever, and he finally lost the last one. That was when Sugar took over. We can attribute Sugar’s favoritism of Bob to his own personality – after all, if he had been a Randy or Corinne, there is no way Sugar would have wanted to save him! Thus a very good reason to be nice instead of nasty on Survivor. (To read Why Bob Won, click here)”

Gabon’s Overall Assesment

This season is filled with unpredictable twists and turns. Blindsides are also on the air. Thanks to Ken and Crystal alliance!

But the end was just good! Bob, the Good guy won but great strategy didn’t surface and for this, Gabon is only at number 4 all-time list. The Top 3 remains untouched.
