Impressive Start for Ivanovic in Miami

anaivanovicmiami2With a 6-0, 6-3 victory over a Ukranian Qualifier (Mariya Koryttseva), Ana Ivanovic sailed through the third round of Miami Sony Ericsson Open where she’ll face Hungarian and 25th seed Agnes Szavay.

“I’m happy with the way I played, especially from the beginning,” said a delighted and satisfied Ana. “I really stepped up, and I’m really pleased with the way I played. In the second set, she started playing much better. It was also a big stage for her, a night session, so probably she was nervous. She started playing better in the second set.”

Reports say Ivanovic lost her sharpness in the second set but earned a break point in the eight game.

“I didn’t drop my level too much. Maybe I was not as aggressive as I was from the beginning, but I still stepped up in the important moments and managed to get the break in the second.”

Just needs to be extra careful for there’s a 75-25 chance of a fourth round clash with Victoria Azarenka. This Belarusian is one of those wild tigers in women’s tennis, winning in Brisbane International, in Memphis and a doubles title in Indian Wells. Her French Open Finalist, Dinara Safina, is waiting in the last eight while Dementieva and Kuznetsova are Ivanovic’s possible opponents in the semi.

Wow, there are lots of Russians in the draw. Ivanovic has still to dig hard and reach for the best one by one. 🙂

Ivanovic is superly HOT in blue! Looking at this picture, I want to ask her for a candlelight dinner date and hug her sooo tight. You know, blue is simply the ideal color for peace and tranquility and Ana Ivanovic needs this higher form of peace inside her to win matches and tournaments. This Serbian got the spunk and her forehand is excellent. There’s no need to doubt she looks and plays well in blue.
