Tonight (8PM at Mall of Asia) will be the very first concert of the R&B Superstar, Usher Raymond, here in the Philippines. Feels sucks that I can’t go (My reasons why).
Hopefully, there’s still a next time and Usher’s organizers will choose a concert hall with a roof.
On a good note, Usher is scheduled to release a Raymond vs Raymond Deluxe Edition on August 24th. The extended album will contain eight new songs and the lead single “DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love” ft. Pitbull is expected to be released today.
Raymond vs Raymond is the sixth studio album of Usher and the third consecutive album of his to debut at number one in Billboard Top 200. The album’s buzz single “Papers” topped the R&B Billboard Charts for two straight weeks even without a music video.
Right now, Usher released four music videos. These are Hey Daddy (Daddy’s Home), Lil’ freak (ft. Nicki Minaj, OMG (ft. will.i.am) and There Goes My Baby. Wikipedia reveals Raymond vs Raymond sold 329,000 copies in its first week of release (US alone).
The Night of the Concert
It was reported in Tumblr that Usher sang 17 songs including two medleys (Lil’ Freak/You Got It Bad & My Boo/I Need A Girl/Lover’s Friend). Until now, I am still questioning why his opening act was “Caught Up (taken from his album Confessions).” “You Make Me Wanna” came second and “You Remind Me” is third. Usher’s closing act were “Yeah” and “OMG.”
